Redesigning my website (again)

And finally adding dark mode 😎

👋

It wasn't too long ago that I did a pretty big website redesign. I guess it was already time for another!

This time I did it because I moved from Bulma to PicoCSS. Since I'm switching out the whole CSS framework, I might as well do a bit of a redesign.

The "theme" for the new design is "being bold" 🧑‍🎤

I wanted something that would stand out more, be more unique, and have more personality - a theme for my whole life really.

The new version isn't perfect, but I do feel it is a step in the right direction. In the spirit of accepting good enough and getting things done I decided to publish it, even though I've had feedback that some things don't quite fit together 🤷

The redesign allowed me to finally add a dark mode!! 🥳

This is something I tried to build in the past but struggled to get working well (I was on an older version of Bulma that didn't have a native dark mode). PicoCSS made it easy!

This is also a good time to reflect on all of the iterations my website has gone through over the years.

Last week: 👇

I've obviously gone through several iterations 😅

I feel I've always moved forward though, never backwards. I'm happy about that.

That being said, a hero image of some kind will make a comeback! I had completely forgotten about that one 4 years ago - it looks good 👌

See you tomorrow-ish 👋

Maybe try another one?
