Trying out Bluesky

Part of my writing challenge this time around is being more public. With that in mind I've decided to try out Bluesky as a social media platform 🦋

I've never used social media much, so this is a new experiment for me. Let's see how it goes!

Why Bluesky?

There were a couple of reasons:

1. Focus on short-form content - should lead me more towards just hitting "publish" more often
2. Can use domains as a handle 🤯 (my handle now is hctr.dev, I'll share why in a future post!)
3. Decentralised/open-source - i.e. it's based on an open protocol and open-source clients just like Mastodon
4. Community is relatively small, but growing 📈

So I think it's a pretty nice place to try out being more social, meet inspiring people, and share what I'm up to.
